the school bell rang
It's a new year with a new teacher and new class. The awful reminder that time is still moving and she is definitely still growing. She is in the safest, warmest, love-filled place outside of my heart and arms. So with that, I give her one last hug and kiss and remind her that Noni will be picking her up. I leave feeling weepy with a big lump in my throat.......trusting in what is and what we have.

richmond summer + pregnancy = inside shoot
I had such great intentions for Kate's maternity shoot. We had been discussing her maternity shoot for quite a while. We were going to head to the Japanese Gardens at Maymont. We would bring her son with us and incorporate him into some of the shots (if he was willing).....Then this past Sunday came, the day of our shoot and holy heat and humidity, Batman! Kate was kind enough to let me set up a shoot at her house instead. Such a beautiful glowing Mama with such gorgeous eyes!

rain, rain, go away
I had a wonderful time catching up with an old friend and meeting his new love this week. I was in a race with HUGE storm clouds.....and I'm calling the race a draw. Jeremy and Matthew's love and energy helped keep the rain away just long enough to have a wonderful power shoot with Shockoe Bottom as the backdrop. Then it p-o-u-r-e-d, young love.

a family affair
Had my hardest shoot to date this week. Trying to coordinate a 5 year old, 2 year old, and 9 month old = TOUGH! They were so kind and incredibly patient to each other and me. Our shoot was filled with what kids can always bring......smiles, sweet kisses, balloons, and birthday suits. Take some advice from sweet Macee, when your clothes are getting you down RUN FREE!
